As our PASP newsletter has just recently gone out with this information, but I wanted to inform you of Beckys transition from PASP and Adoption Horizons and the transition of two new social workers.
Several years ago Becky started a private practice and it has been growing to the oint that it has become difficult for her to continue with her work here.?? She finally made the decision to solely focus on her private practice.?? I know that she shared this with some of you, but this notice will give you more information.
I have hired two new people to replace the services at Adoption Horizons and the Post Adoption Services Project (PASP).?? Lisa OKeefe, ACSW, will be taking over the Family Therapist position at the PASP office.?? She comes with high qualifications, energy and is PCIT trained.?? She is currently a foster parent as well so she has navigated and understands the system.
Adoption Horizons has hired another social worker for the Supervising Social Worker position, birth mother counselor and homestudy worker.?? Lou Koerner, LCSW, comes all the way from South Carolina with all her amazing skills and work experience.?? She is also an adoptive mom, so she has gone through that process from start to finish.
I am really excited about the wonderful replacements and look forward to providing great services.
On that note I would also like to introduce Adoption Horizons new volunteer, Maria Costa.?? Maria comes to us as a volunteer after retiring from 19 years of employment as an Employment Training Worker with the County of Humboldt.?? She does a variety of tasks and is helping us to get caught up with work here at AH.
